Your Account > Log-in The liberalisation of the Irish electricity markets now offers customers the choice to move to ESB Independent Energy (ESBIE) without the need for additional metering and without interruption to supply. What's more, ESBIE handle all administrative work and liase with the Distribution System Operator ensuring it's a simple process with minimum fuss. The registration process for Republic of Ireland customers' is as follows: ESBIE submits a Change of Supplier Request to the Meter Registration System Operator (MRSO). The MRSO are charged with handling all registration activities on behalf of suppliers. The Distribution System Operator (ESB DSO) ensures the appropriate metering is in place. ESB DSO sends a Connection Agreement to the customer for completion (if a Connection Agreement does not exist). Customer signs and returns Connection Agreement to ESB DSO. ESBIE receive confirmation from MRSO that ESBIE will become the customer's supplier and a final meter reading is taken. MRSO will also advise your previous supplier. ESBIE becomes the customer's supplier without disruption to supply and without need for additional metering.
